Global Village is Dubai’s giant seasonal cultural fair – a mix of world villages, live shows, shopping souks, and fairground rides. In 2024–25 the 29th season runs from mid-October through mid-May. It’s open daily from 4pm; typically until midnight (Sun–Wed) or 1am (Thu–Sat). Entry is AED 25 on weekdays (Sun–Thu) or AED 30 any day (kids under 3 and seniors get in free). Global Village lies off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) at Exit 37. The easiest way is the RTA Metro Red Line – exit at the new Global Village station, then take RTA bus F29 straight to the park entrance. Ample parking is available on-site (20,000+ spots).
Cultural Pavilions & Shows
Global Village’s heart is its world pavilions. In 2024–25 about 27 country pavilions showcase 90+ cultures. Each pavilion recreates a slice of home – from iconic landmarks to colorful bazaars – selling traditional handicrafts, spices, clothing and decor. You can stroll through an Omani souk, an Indian bazaar, an Egyptian market and dozens more, all in one evening. Every pavilion also has its own stage with cultural shows and folk dances nightly. In fact, Global Village hosts 200+ live performances each evening (folk shows, music, kids’ theatre and cultural dances). New for 2024–25: three new country exhibits (Jordan, Iraq and a joint Sri Lanka–Bangladesh pavilion) debut this season, adding to the exploration. Don’t miss the Emirati Heritage area either, with traditional crafts and cuisine.
Carnaval Rides & Thrills
Global Village’s carnival zone (“Carnaval”) is a brightly lit funfair packed with rides and games. By night it lights up with neon — a huge Ferris wheel, spinning swing rides, drop towers and more – plus arcade and skill games. In total about 195 rides and attractions are on offer. There’s something for every age: gentle merry-go-rounds and kids’ wheels for little ones, and heart-pounding thrill rides for teens and adults. An Unlimited Rides Pass makes it easy: for just AED 50 you can ride all day (valid on all 31 major rides). Otherwise you pay per ride using a “Carnaval” smart card (points can be topped up at kiosks). Shown above is Moscow Max, one of the big swings – other highlights include looping coasters, the double Ferris wheel and a giant drop tower. (Tip: rides often queue on busy nights, so consider going earlier in the evening or using the unlimited pass.)
Thrill-seekers will love the high-octane machines (for example Moscow Max shown above), while families can enjoy plenty of smaller rides and game stalls. Kids can win giant teddy bears at dart or ring-toss games, or take toddler-friendly rides in the dedicated children’s zone. Every ride has height/age limits posted, so parents can gauge which attractions are suitable. Carnival food carts (popcorn, cotton candy, candy apples) and casual eateries line the midway, so you can refuel between rides.
Food & Dining
Global Village is a foodie’s paradise of world cuisine. Each pavilion features authentic dishes from its country. Sample shawarma, falafel and kebabs in the Levantine section; biryani, samosas and curries at the India/Pakistan pavilion; dim sum and sushi in the Asia row; pizzas and pasta in the Western zone; and Emirati treats like luqaimat (sweet fried dumplings) in the Gulf Area. Snack kiosks and juice bars abound – a cup of pomegranate juice or kava coffee is often under AED 10. Local desserts (dates, baklava, Iranian ice cream) and street snacks (grilled corn, nuts, churros) are plentiful. You’ll find cozy sit-down restaurants too – for example, an Iranian palace-style restaurant and Lebanese grill spots. Prices are generally very reasonable: a shawarma or pasta dish might run AED 10–30, curries or grills AED 30–50, and specialty sweets AED 5–15. (You cannot bring outside food or drink into the park, so plan to dine on-site or at the food court just inside the gates.)
Shopping & Souvenirs
Shopping is another highlight. Wander through the aisles of each pavilion to pick up unique souvenirs and gifts: think handwoven rugs, tribal jewelry, lanterns, scarves, spice boxes, leather goods, musical instruments and more. Vendors often offer big selections at low prices (bargaining is common). For example, a decorative pillow or T-shirt might start around AED 20–50, a jar of saffron or spice mix AED 15–30, and large rugs or handcrafted decor a few hundred. You’ll also find budget electronics, toys and quirky global novelties. Payment by card is widely accepted, but small vendors may prefer cash – ATMs are available inside.

Tips for Visitors
-
Best time to visit: Weekday evenings (Sun–Thu) are least crowded. Arrive soon after 4pm to catch the cooler sunset and avoid long rides lines. If you can only go on a weekend, aim for the early evening (before 8pm).
-
How long to plan: Expect to spend at least 3–4 hours to see the main pavilions and a few rides; a full evening (5–6 hours) is ideal if you want to explore thoroughly and enjoy shows.
-
What to bring: Wear comfy shoes for walking. Nights can get cool (especially Dec–Feb), so bring a light jacket. Carry a camera or smartphone for photos (the park is very photogenic). A small backpack or purse is handy for essentials, but remember the no-food rule. Bring cash or card for food, ride passes, and shopping.
-
Using passes: If you plan many rides, buy the AED 50 Unlimited Carnaval Pass. Otherwise, load points onto the Wonder Pass card at the entrance kiosks – rides cost anywhere from ~20–50 points each (5–30 AED range depending on the ride).
-
Stay comfortable: Rest at one of the shaded seating areas between pavilions. Water fountains are available to refill bottles. Use restrooms or prayer rooms as needed (queues can form late at night).
-
Local apps: Use Google Maps or the Global Village app for navigation.
Who Will Love It
-
Families with kids: This is a children’s dreamland. Kids will enjoy the Carousel, Arabian Horse train, fairytale castle play area and Disney/Pixar shows. Plus, there are plentiful rest areas, baby-changing rooms and family tickets/packages.
-
Couples or friends: Global Village is a fun date/night-out spot. Take a romantic spin on the Ferris Wheel, explore hand-in-hand through festive streets, and share snacks from around the world. The lively atmosphere (especially with live music or fireworks) is great for photos. The global food court offers everything from ice cream to shawarma for casual dining, or choose a cozy eatery for a sit-down dinner.
-
Solo travelers and culture buffs: You can easily spend a solo evening wandering at your own pace. Explore each country’s culture, haggle for a unique souvenir, and sample new foods without hurry. It’s a safe, friendly environment (attractions are well-lit and attendants are helpful). Bring a camera for the colorful photo ops and enjoy mingling with international crowds.
